Museum Work and Open Day, April 12, 2014
The SLO Railroad Museum was open to the public today and will be open monthly on the second Saturday of each month. Docents showed visitors around and answered questions while other museum members worked on museum projects and artifacts. At left is a photo of the southbound Amtrak Coast Starlight passing by the Museum Speeder and a crew painting the old baggage cart. At right is a photo of the finished product.
The next event at the museum will be the Amtrak National Train Day celebration on Saturday May 10 from 10am to 4pm. Come and visit, ride a speeder, view the progress of the model railroad, and enjoy the museum. Admission is free on National Train Day. Speeder rides are $3 per person.
