Another exciting Santa event occurred at the San Luis Obispo Railroad Museum on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Santa and Mrs. Claus boarded the
Amtrak Pacific Surfliner in Grover Beach and visited with children on the train ride to San Luis Obispo. Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived in SLO in the pouring rain but that didn't dampen the enthusiasm of the many families waiting for his arrival. He was carried from the Amtrak Station to the Railroad Museum by the Amtrak transport cart where Santa and Mrs. Claus then met with many families in the La Cuesta rail passenger car (the Museum's historic observation/cafe car). While the families waited, the line snaked through the museum where everyone got to listen to Christmas music, talk to museum members, learn about Operation Lifesaver, visit the model railroad, and play in the children's play area. Everyone had a great time.
And finally - many, many thanks to Paul and Dorothy Deis, Cheryl Strahl Photography, the Amtrak Station Agents,
Operation Lifesaver, and Marti, Margie, and Erin singing trio.
